Undoubtedly one of the most exciting young producers to appear on the scene over the last twelve months, Germany’s Daniel Bortz has set the world of House music alight, all be it at an understated rate of beats per minute.

Already a firm family member at Berlin’s ever impressive Suol Records, Daniel has graced the label with his fantastic “The One” ep, shone on the debut “Suol Mates” collection with his “Don’t Be Fooled” number and worked his magic on a release from Heiko Laux & Teo Schulte. Tiefschwarz were another duo to spot the talent, releasing Daniel’s collaboration with Sascha Sibler on their label, Souvenir Music.

Whilst his productions are positively depth defying, its the combination of slo-mo beats and ever-present ‘Soul’ that really sets Daniel’s work apart. With an enviable ear for a sample, Daniel’s work often seeks to borrow from the pasts most unlikely of sources, enabling him to harness a feeling and work it into his own slice of swinging irresistible ear candy. The “Draga” ep on his very own Pastamusik sees three brand new cuts of warm, slinky and soulful house.

What’s remarkable about Daniel Bortz’s approach to macabre disco-funk, coined by the likes of Foss, Jones, et al is his (even more extreme) us of indistinct melody. Vocal samples so dampened with reverb, so removed from their human origins that they merge like wistful ghosts into the cosmic synths whirring around them. But despite the nebulous depth of ‘Can’t Sleep At Night’, its wiggling groove is unmistakable and thoroughly infectious, embellishing the title of the track with a cheeky double entendre. On the flip, ‘Other Life’ offers more gradually built slo-mo disco joy with grinding robo-synths and more spooky mutant voices, while ‘No One’ is yet another brooding slice of ominous tech-funk, just more meditative and melancholic throughout.

Daniel Bortz es un artista al que llevo siguiendo un tiempo,ha editado en sellos como SUOL completamente abonado a esta sección y otros con menos nombre,pero también de alta calidad. Para esta ocasión se ha desmelenado y ha creado un disco completamente redondo (valga la redundancia) y es que el amigo germano sabe muy bien darle a esto que ahora llaman Slow-Mo House. Lo que nos encontramos en el disco son tres cortes muy !nos,mucha clase y calidad desbordante,unas vocales ensoñadoras y unos beats más bien oscuros para vestir de gala en las frías noches que se avecinan. No hay duda de que estamos ante uno de los talentos emergentes de éste 2011,a mi juicio lo major del disco es ese track llamado “Can’t Sleep At Night”. 9.5/10

Da kann man sich ja gar nicht entscheiden, welcher Track der Favorit ist. Wenn ich mal die perfekte A-Seite ausblende, würde ich zuerst über das diskoträchtige “The Healer” fallen, was eigentlich wie gemacht für die Rote Sonne ist. Ich stelle mir dazu genau die Anlage in dem langen Raum vor, die Lichter und das vor den großen Kühlschränken schwitzende Thekenpersonal. Großartig! Aber eigentlich ist ja “Keplers Law” die wahre Perle dieses Releases. Wird sich dem einen oder anderen wohl erst beim fünften Hören komplett offenbaren. Die Stimmungen, die sich hier auftun und in einander verweben – absolut passend dazu der Titel, denn man bewegt sich wirklich in astronomischen Welten und Weiten. Meisterwerk!

Bartz returns with part two of his hugely successful ‘Astrodynamics’ Series.  Another three storming tracks each demanding their own attention as was with part one, ‘Night Crawler’ and ‘The Healer’ are suitably titled with their sights on the main rooms and thus have been finding favour with Ritchie Hawtin and Thomas Schumacher amongst others. A1) Aller Retour.  Mir mögens ja recht gern, wenns schiebt und die Nummer, die schiebt gewaltig. Unterlegt mit einer spitzen Kickdrum entwickelt sich im weiteren Verlauf die streng gehaltene Basslinie von einem kleinen Bächlein zu einem alles mitreißenden Strom. Dazu ganz unchristlich gibt’s obendrein noch ein paar drüber mit ein paar orientalisch zweckentfremdeten Orgelpfeifen. Was will man mehr. Ach übrigens – es gibt tatsächlich einen Fluss in Niedersachsen mit Namen Aller, damit hat das Stück allerdings nix zu tun.

B1) Nevermind. Rechts andeuten und links vorbei. Und dann ein Lupfer anstatt einem Schuss. So ungefähr fühlt sich Nevermind an. Ein Sturmlauf aus der Tiefe, der dann jedoch grazil anstatt brachial zum Höhepunkt kommt. Unsere Empfehlung zum Auslaufen nach einem nach einem extensiven Clubbesuch ;)

A1) Aller Retour. Indeed we do like it very much, when a tune is like a punch – and this one pushes tremendous. Underlaid with a sharp kick later, the strongly-held bass line involving from a small stream to an all-compelling stream. On top we receive a very un-Christian boot with some oriental like organ-pipes. What more can you expect. Oh by the way- there is actually a river in Lower Saxony with the same name like the track – however has nothing to do with it.

Die Rückseite bringt ihre Chords und Harmonien auch eher etwas beiläufig unter, und erst auf dem treibenderen harscheren “Meteor Shower” bekommt man das Gefühl, dass sich Bartz wirklich ausleben lässt.

Ganz klassischer Deephouse -wie ich ihn zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben anfang der 90er im Keller vom alten Ultraschall ( am Flughafen ) gehört habe. Bin da morgens in eine fast schon Privatparty (zumindest hatte man den Eindruck, diese 100 Leute in dem Raum Richtung Klos kennen sich alle ). Ohne Scheiß:

Anette Party heißt eigentlich Tony Montana und ist gelernter Diplomgangster. Irgendwann wurde er von seiner sizilianischen Großfamilie verstoßen, weil er sich mit allen 36 Töchtern (die älteste war 63, die jüngste 3 1/2) des Corleone Clans eingelassen hatte und floh in die nördlichste Stadt Italiens, nach München. Dort gründete er seine eigene Bande. Die Kinderradl Gang. Schnell verscherzte er es sich mit Polizei, Justiz, Brüdern, Schwestern, den barmherzigen Schwestern vom Bettelstuhl bei denen er eine Weile unterkam, seiner Vermieterin Rosa De Langen-Weiler, dem ADAC und dem Dachverband der organisierten Kriminalität. Doch Tony Montana trägt seinen Namen zu Recht und mit gutem Gewissen. Er fand schnell neue Opfer. Kochte ein bißchen mit Kapern und ein bißchen ohne. Und in wenigen Augenblicken hatte er Jack Guzik, Mr.Metro und Jichael Mackson an sich gefesselt. Er hielt die Rasselbande im feuchten Keller bei Brot und Wasser und ließ sie schuften um das Label Pastamusik zu starten und die Rote Sonne zu gründen, auf dem sich fortan sein Ruhm und Reichtum begründen sollten. Mittlerweile besitzt er schon eine Flotte von grasgrünen Polizeibobbycars mit denen er neue Schmutzgelderpressungen erpresst.

Jetzt hats mal wieder ein wenig gedauert dafür freuen wir uns umso mehr endlich den Erstling des Analog Roland Orchestra auf Pastamusik präsentieren zu dürfen.

Und los geht es gleich mit „Jacks Highway“ einem bewusst gezügelten, hoch energetischen und dabei in sich ruhenden minimal House-Track – eben einem klassischen Opener. Die Vokalbegleitung vermittelt ein Gefühl von Bewegung, der Überwindung von Grenzen egal ob im Club oder auf dem Weg….wo immer der auch hinführt….

„Give the Zombies what they want“ – da stellt man sich unwillkürlich die Frage: „Was wollen die eigentlich wirklich“ (vom Verzehr ihrer lebenden Artgenossen mal abgesehen)? Wie wärs zur Abwechslung mal mit ein bisschen Unterhaltung und wir liefern dazu gleich mal den Soundtrack. Geradlinig und mit ein paar schöne Acid-Schleifen verziert kann man bei der Nummer bestimmt alles Mögliche – sitzen bleiben gehört ganz sicher nicht dazu.

„Diverse“ – Name = Programm; Roland nicht Name des Künstlers. Dem exemplarischen Abarbeiten an seinem „303/606/909“ (und wie sie alle heißen) Analog-Elektro-Tierchen habe wir sehr gerne noch ein kleines Plätzchen auf der B-Seite eingerichtet. Was sonst bei einer so schönen Nummer.

Und dazu noch ein so aufstrebender Technokillersynthhit, dass man am liebsten als Modulationsrad wiedergeboren werden möchte. Und auch „Diverse“ ist in seiner dichten funkigen Smoothness so kompakt und kickend oldschoolig, dass einem nur einfällt, dass die vielleicht die neue 808 State sein sollte. „Jacks Highway“ auf der A-Seite ist etwas ruhiger und typischer für den Sound dieser Zeit, aber dennoch ein sicherer Floorfiller und das ohne Langatmigkeit. Ja, tanze schön, Dankeschön. Auf der B-Seite finden sich zwei gut ausbalancierte Tracks, die im Vergleich zu A wesentlich komprimierter klingen und durch die sich lose Fläche ziehen. Unsere Schwäche für den Dub ausnutzend hat uns Edgar 9000 die beiliegenden unwiderstehlichen Tracks untergeschoben.

„Play Me Minus Three“ (Patience vs. Epiphany Mix) – Was wie ein nett arrangiertes Minimalstück angeht, blubbert und wabert sich nach kurzem Innehalten hoch zur großen Fahrt auf der Acid-Dub-Geisterbahn. Spätestens bei der dezent eingesetzten und zerhackten Waldhorn Fläche im zweiten Teil ist man dann vollends verloren. Nix zum schnell mal reinhören – Aber wir warnen ausdrücklich vor Endlosspiel Suchtgefahr!

Während der Titel „Hook & Bait“ der B-Seite eher wie das Grundprinzip beim Angeln heißt, hört es sich ganz real wie der klassische Grundsatz des Ambient an….also fast, weil in diesem Fall das vor sich hintreibende Ambientstück mit einem sehr antreibenden fließenden Rhythmus auf einem erdigen Bass alter Schule unterfüttert wurde. Petri Heil!

Play Me Minus Three (Patience vs. Epiphany Mix)– what starts like a nicely arranged minimal tune bubbles and billows after a short pause up to a big ride on the Acid-Dub-Ghost-Train. At the latest when the decently deployed and gated French Horn pad sets in on the second half you are completely lost. Not for quick peep – but beware: danger of addiction of endless playing is definitely given

Meanwhile the title „Hook & Bait“ of the B-Side rather reads like the basic principle of fishing. It really sounds like the classic principle of ambient ….well almost, since in this case this ambient track is drifting along itself, underlined with a straight driving and floating rhythm
fed by an earthly bassline.

Pino Grzybowsky hat zwei äußerst gelungene TEchnoepen mit einem discoiden Unterton produziert. “Play Me Minus Three” und “Hook & Bait” sind meditative Technobretter, die an bestimmten Punkten durch Grzybowsys eigenartigen Humor gebrochen werden. Paradoxerweise macht gerade die ab und zu spürbare ironische Distanz die Tracks so verbindlich. Tiefgründiger, witziger und vierfältiger kann Clubmusik heute kaum klingen.

Vielleicht nur weil es sich reimt, passt der Titel zum Track nur so halb, denn es geht hier sehr schnell in die Tiefe des analogen Grooves voller Wasserblubbern und anderer Effekte, einer verhuscht grabenden Bassline, und dem Gefühl, das dieser Jam nie zuende gehen sollte. Musik wie ein Liveset. Und die Stimme da mittendrin ist wirklich böse und wandelt das ganze dann auch noch um in ein Hörspiel für Kopfstarke. Die Wückseite ist generell ein klein wenig housiger angelegt, aber auch das ist nur Täuschung.

Pastamusik ist wieder da und wir lauschen auf, was da wohl ins Vinyl geritzt wurde. Und ui! Eine wirklich anständig zarte Feh läßt ihre hauchig zarten Flügel über einen sanft wabernden Trancetechnoteppich streichen, ohne ihn jedoch bewußt zu berühren. Wie soll man sonst so einen Track beschreiben, der nie richtig aus sich herausgeht, aber dennoch seine Zuhörer bannt wie Hölle? Und woher stammt eigentlich das Vocalsample im Mittelteil, der dem Ganzen noch einmal eine gewisse neue Bestimmung zuführt. Dagegen ist die andere Seite mit “Hook and Bait” fast gegenstandslos, denn von “Play me minus three” kann man sich nicht so einfach lösen und drückt bereits von Anfang an automatisch auf Replay, da man Angst hat, irgendwas könnte die gewonnene Stimmung zerstören. Wirklich ein tolles Stück

Born in Mymensingh/Bangladesh. Lived in Germany, France and the U.S.A., now based in Munich/Germany.

His musical education started in 1974 with learning on an electric organ. Autodidactic learning of playing piano, Clavinet and keyboards plus working with analogue synthesizers resulted in releasing tapes with own compositions of electronic music through fanzines in the early eighties. In 1995 he started to be a Dj and to release his first 12″ EPs on labels like Superstition, Sony, Delirium and Pod-Communication in the Techno and Ambient field. He collected a stack of analogue gear up to mid 1997 – sold then his whole studio to move to Los Angeles. There together with Michael Knapp aka Xpando he started to work on building up a studio around Mike’s vast collection of analogue synths. Back in Europe was heavy touring as DJ and Live-Act under the imprint “Dr.Scissors” plus working in the art-context as sound-designer with the artist collective “Supreme Particles” (-> R111). Other activities include appearances on art-festivals like “Profile Intermedia 8” in Bremen, “ Go West” in Zuerich and as sound-designer for Kirill Preobrazhenskiys sound-installation  “ Tram 4 Inner Voice Radio” at Documenta 12 in Kassel 2007. Edgar 9000´s  first release “Cluster Shiftings” on french netlabel “Sweet Smelling Surfaces” was downloaded a thousand times in the first two weeks. Edgar 9000s first full length album

“Below My Danger Line” is finished
and will be released with a full length video by Kirill Preobrazhenskiy/Moscow in the year 2010. Meanwhile three releases have been created for Pastamusik/Munich/Germany – one is dub- mad driving techno and the other is rollercoaster space dub techno, giving an outlook to the coordinates of future works that are already in progress, including more records and the soundtrack for a documentary film. Today Edgar 9000 stands for energetic and unique sounds on solid grooves, dancefloor-approved and chemically tested .

MUSIKALISCHE VITA

Seine musikalische Ausbildung begann im Jahr 1974 mit dem Spiel an einer elektrischen Orgel. Autodidaktisches Lernen am Klavier, Clavinet und an Keyboards plus die Arbeit mit Analog-Synthesizern resultierten mit der Veröffentlichung von eigenen Kompositionen elektronischer Musik auf Kassetten über Fanzines in den frühen achtziger Jahren.

Im Jahr 1995 fing er als DJ an und seine ersten 12“ EPs wurden auf Labels wie Superstition, Sony, Delirium und Pod Communikation im Techno-und Ambient Bereich veröffentlicht.

Er sammelte analoge Synthesizer und Maschinen bis Mitte 1997– verkauft dann sein ganzes Studio um nach Los Angeles auszuwandern. Zusammen mit Michael Knapp aka Xpando fängt er dort mit dem Aufbau eines Studios rund um Mike’s umfangreiche Sammlung von analogen Synthesizern an. Wieder zurück in Europa tourte er dann vermehrt als DJ und Live-Act unter seinem alter ego “Dr.Scissors”.  Des weiteren arbeitete er im Kunst-Kontext als Sound-Designer mit dem Künstler-Kollektiv “Supreme Particles” (-> R111). Weitere Aktivitäten waren Auftritte auf Kunst-Festivals wie “Profile Intermedia 8″ in Bremen, “Go West” in Zürich und als Sound-Designer für Kirill Preobrazhenskiys Klanginstallation “Tram 4 Inner Voice Radio” auf der Documenta 12 in Kassel 2007.

Edgar 9000’s erster Release “Cluster Shiftings” auf dem französischen Netlabel “Sweet Smelling Surfaces” wurde in den ersten zwei Wochen mehr als tausend mal heruntergeladen.

Edgar 9000’s erstes Album “Below My Line Danger” ist fertig und wird mit einem Video in voller Länge von Kirill Preobrazhenskiy aus Moskau im Jahr 2010 veröffentlicht werden.

Inzwischen wurden zwei Veröffentlichungen für Pastamusik München erstellt – eine ist treibender Techno – die andere ist ein Achterbahnfahrt durch Space-Dub-Techno, ein Ausblick auf die Koordinaten des künftigen Schaffens. Weitere Platten und der Soundtrack für einen Dokumentarfilm sind derzeit in Arbeit.

Heute steht Edgar 9000 für energetische und einzigartige Klänge auf soliden Grooves, Dancefloor-geprüft und chemisch getestet.

Born 1984 in Bielsko-Biala/Poland, grown up in Chiemgau county at Chiemsee Lakeside.

Since then Michal is a obsessive collector mainly of Roland equipment, analog synthesizers and drummachines from the years 1977 – 1988 (some of his over 30 different machines are regularly in use for productions and live acts).
His sophisticated but warm and sometimes challenging arrangements reflect his musical influences reaching from Bob James, Mort Garson to current Electronic Musicians such as Legowelt, Moodymann or Garnier. Musical C.V.
Michal resently started to play in public as „The Analog Roland Orchestra“ and was for us the great discovery in 2008. Besides live act at Munichs Glockenbachwerkstatt he already performed a couple of times at the Club “Rote Sonne”.
He surprised all of us with the high level of control has has over his equipments combined with the ability to take his crowd along the way of his musical trip also with his very extrovert performance. He avoids open loops and random try and error in from of an audience –

Seine ausgefeilten und inhaltlich warmen aber manchmal auch sperrigen Arrangements reflektieren von ihm genannte musikalischen Einflüsse wie u.a. Bob James, Mort Garson und heutigen Musikern wie Legowelt, Modymann und Garnier.
Michal ist als “The Analog Roland Orchestra“ erst seit kurzem öffentlich Unterwegs und war für uns die große Entdeckung in 2008. Neben Auftritten in der Münchner Glockenbachwerkstatt hat er bereits mehrmals Live in der Roten Sonne in München gespielt. Hierbei überraschte er uns alle damit, wie sehr er seine komplett analoge Gerätschaft beherrscht und das Publik auf seinem musikalischen Trip und seiner extrovertierten Performance mitgerissen hat. Kein Leerlauf, kein Rumprobieren vor Publikum –

Michal weiß von Anfang bis Ende genau was er macht.
Neben House produziert er unter anderem auch Musik für Dokumentar-und Kurzfilme.

Born 1981,  lives and produced in Augsburg.

His musical influences are characterized by the complete lack of fear of contact, ranging from punk and new wave (Stranglers / Joy Division) to pop (Prince / Peter Gabriel) and classic techno (Dave Angel / Daniel Bell), to local folk music (Biermösl Blosn ). His DJ sets regularly leave enthusiastic audience that especially appreciates his playful versatility and his keen sense of the mood among his very specific gig.

As a DJ, Daniel was the first time in 1995 on local events in Freising. In the following years, he recorded, among other things The Analog Digital Festival / Munich (live), Club Achter Mai / Berlin, the City Jazz Festival / Brunswick, U60311/Frankfurt, kerosene / Augsburg and regularly several clubs in and outside Germany. Since 2007 he has been resident DJ at the Rote Sonne in Munich. Moreover, he invites a monthly national and international DJ guests on his own highly successful series of events at the Black Sheep (Forza Electronica) in Augsburg.

1995 was also the starting year for Daniel as a producer. After a first remix for Media Records in 2005, he published regularly since 2007, including Pastamusik, with its consistently positive feedback roofed own productions.

Daniel Bortz, Jahrgang  1981 lebt und produziert in Augsburg.

Seine musikalischen Einflüsse zeichnen sich durch das vollkommene Fehlen von Berührungsängsten und reichen von Punk und New Wave (Stranglers/Joy Division) zu Pop (Prince/Peter Gabriel) und klassischem Techno (Dave Angel/Daniel Bell) bis hin zu lokaler Volksmusik (Biermösl Blosn). Seine DJ Sets hinterlassen regelmäßig eine begeistertes Publikum, das vor allem seine verspielte Vielseitigkeit und seine feines Gespür für die Stimmungslage bei seinen jeweiligen Gigs sehr schätzt.

Als DJ trat Daniel das erste Mal 1995 auf lokalen Veranstaltungen in Freising auf. Wer jetzt eine Ambient Nummer oder den Soundtrack zum Besuch der Sixtinischen Kapelle erwartet hat, der hat sich geschnitten.
Von wegen vorweihnachtliche Ruhe und Besinnlichkeit.
Aus einem treibenden Rhythmusteppich bricht sich das Thema wiederkehrend aus den Tiefen des Molltons Bahn. Begleitet von einer dunklen Stimme aus dem Off, die darüber referiert, wie schön es ist gelegentlich mal die Klappe zu halten und zuzuhören.
Nein nicht ganz. Eigentlich geht’s darum wie schön die kurze Ruhe sein kann, die kurze Ruhe draußen vor dem Club, bevor man sich dann gerne wieder weg von der Ruhe ins Zentrum der Tanzfläche begibt. Und genau dazu, ist „Power of Silence“ der Soundtrack. Es muß also nicht immer ruhig um trotzdem schön zu sein.
Das findet übrigens auch Dave Clarke, der sich (neben einigen anderen nicht minder Prominenten DJs) schon seit geraumer Zeit an unserem neuesten Release erfreut.

As if quiet time before Christmas!
On a drifty rhythm flow the tracks theme breaks from the depth of minor through again and again. And from the off a dark voice murmurs about how beautiful it is to sometimes just keep quiet and just listen.
Well, not really! It’s really about how nice it can be to enjoy the short silence there outside the club, before you return back to the centre of the dancefloor. And that’s what “Power of silence” is about. It don’t necessarily has to be quiet to be beautiful. By the way, Dave Clarke sees it the same way and enjoys our newest release already for a while.

Man hört nicht viel von Pasta Musik, aber wenn, dann ist es immer etwas besonderes. Die neue 12″ hat eine Weile gebraucht bis sie mal von der Promo den Weg in den Läden geschafft hat, aber das Warten hat sich gelohnt. Die einseitig bespielte EP kommt mit einem so grundlegenden Technotrack voller Modulations- und Sägezahneuphorie, voller Technofundamentalismus mit einer Ode an die Stille, die so gar nicht still sein will. Mächtig wie ein Fels in der Brandung der Minimalismen rockt diese Platte wie ein Eisbrecher alles weg und man hofft dass dieser Sound endlich wieder Schule macht und deepe Technotracks dieser Art endlich wieder den Floor in eine unerwartete Macht verwandeln die einen alles vergessen lässt.

Irgendwo zwischen Detroit, Chicago und Bologna liegt? Ganz genau – Giesing.
Zumindest geistig geographisch im Kosmos von Mr. Migumatix der mit vorliegenden Aufnahmen seinen Pastamusik Einstand gibt. Als Resident-DJ in verschiedenen Münchner Clubs mit seinem energetischen und swingenden Stil bereits als feste Größe etabliert, zeigt er hier, dass er viel mehr ist als nur ein weiteres hoffnungsvolles Produzententalent…und das ist erst der Anfang.
Die A-Seite arbeitet zwei klassische (Giesing) Themen frisch und überzeugend auf. Direkt, rau und ohne überbordenden Zierrat geht’s hier gleich richtig zur Sache. Giesing, das Arbeiterviertel. Jack kommt aus Giesing (Brian übrigens auch) und das Haus von Jack…steht ebenfalls dort. Giesing war nie ein sicheres Pflaster, hartes Leben auf der Strasse ist garantiert. Migumatix schert das wenig, denn genau von dort bezieht er seine Energie – verpackt in a1 und a2.
Desperation – zugegeben, nach Verzweiflung hört sich die Nummer wirklich nicht an. Eher nach Hunger, nach mehr wollen, was kommt noch, was ist noch möglich? Einmal tief Luft holen und jeden Moment genießen, und vielleicht ein wenig daran zu verzweifeln, wenn man sich mal wieder dabei selbst ertappt hat….es nicht zu tun.
Giesing brennt – in Giesings Geschichte gab es tatsächlich immer wieder Momente in dem es richtig hart zuging. Aber davon handelt dieses Stück nicht. Auch nicht davon, dass Franz Beckenbauer in Giesing das Fußballspielen gelernt hat. Vielmehr beherbergt das Viertel in den letzten Jahren mehr und mehr junge hungrige Künstler die sich hier eingerichtet haben um Giesing feuriges neues Leben einzuhauchen…..und da brennt einiges.

Hat etwas gedauert seit der letzten EP, aber ich denke mal da wurde sich mächtig umorientiert, denn die neue Pastamusik ist eine solches klassisch wuchtige Housebombe, dsas man einfach nur von jedem Track in eine neue Ecke der Vergangenheit geworfen wird und dennoch nie das Gefühl hat, in der Oldschoolschleife hängen geblieben zu sein. Egal ob full-on Vocaltrack oder Acidsnarewirbel-Roland-Puristensound oder was sie sich sonst noch alles trauen, diese Platte dürfte für die nächsten Sets von James Cotton sowas wie sein rechter Arm werden. Mächtig. Und völlig unerwartet für mich.

Die EP von Migumatix bietet als A1 einen massiven Vocalhouse-Track, der ohne längere Breaks funktioniert und schnörkellos nach vorne geht. A2 arbeitet mit trockenen Drumpatterns, über die sich eine rohe Basslinie windet. Schnelle Snarewirbel und metallische Geräuschsequenzen summieren sich zu einem sehr industriellen Höreindruck. B1 ist mit polternd rollenden Kickdrums und klaren Hihats ein funktionales Tool. B2 ist ein in immer neuen Anläufen sägendes und saugendes Acidmonster.
